Hi, I’m Courtney! I’m so glad you’ve stumbled across my little corner of the internet.
The Heart Of Home is the place for you to begin turning your house into a home. Here you’ll find from-scratch recipes, tips to make your gardening experience successful, and swaps I’ve made in our home that are simple, clean and may bring some order to your chaos like they have mine.
My husband Kaleb and I have been exploring this world of suburban “homesteading” for a couple years now, though I’ve been gardening for well over a decade! Our goal is to share what we learn with you in hopes to inspire and equip you through our successes and failures.
You may have seen the increase of homesteaders in the recent years. We love it! But we also know it can leave people like us, inexperienced, small-city livin’, young families feeling like we aren’t even close to creating that sustainable lifestyle we so desire.
And that’s why I’m here. To break the stigma that you have to own acreages, large numbers of livestock and have generational wealth or farming in your veins. Everything we share here challenges what our society believes about homesteading.
I’m entirely grateful for the individuals in my life who have inspired, encouraged and motivated me to be better and do better for my home and family. It’s because of them that I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone to share knowledge and experiences with each of you.
So pull up a seat. There’s room for you here, too.
